Has anyone read that book? Its by Justin Cronin, came out last month just got it before going to the beach last week but couldn't really get rolling on it until Sunday. Finished last night, I can't recommend it highly enough. Go read it, now. been sketching the virals from it, will get to them more as current stuff is completed.
To reiterate, go read Justin Cronin's The Passage. Go now, buy it, check it out from the library, whatever you have to do.

Sounds kind like the plot of the movie, '28 weeks later':
28 Weeks Later picks up six months after the Rage Virus has decimated the city of London. The US Army has returned order and is repopulating the quarantined city, when a carrier of the Rage Virus enters London and unknowingly (because of a security breach) re-ignites the spread of the deadly infection and the nightmare begins. The movie centers around a soldier who helps a young boy/girl escpace the 'crazies'.

And here's the original movie:

Both are REALLY good entries into the zombie canon.
But books are so much better! I've seen 28 weeks but not 28 weeks later.
They've been classifying this book as "vampire" but all through it I kept relating it more to zombies, extremely fast and strong zombies but zombies nonetheless. . .
