New Stuff. . .

If it seems like I can't decide on which direction to artistically its fully intentional . . .

yeah, that's it. I find that I tend to go through quick phases with my artistic endeavors, the good thing is that I tend to come back around to the same subjects/styles.

So first, here's a watercolor I did for my Grandma's birthday. Finished it last night, just in time to get in the mail today so that she gets it tomorrow (her birthday).
And next is a sneak peek at my next "fantasy storybook" illustration. Actually its more of a dinosaur than a "fantasy" beast. I hope to find the time to finish this before the end of the month. I am falling back into this genre pretty solid again and have about 4 of this type in progress. . . and yes, I'm aware that once again there are mushrooms. . . What, they fill the space nicely!

Another Caricature. . .

I'm really getting into these. I don't know if they're any good or not. . .

But, here is one I did last night. Its of one of the regular caricature posters at the Drawingboard.org. There is a really long running thread of "Caricaturists Caricatures" where you post your versions of the other guys along with pictures of yourself for them to caricature. I haven't been in it long but am enjoying it.

Anyway, here is "Bangalore Monkey". Mechanical Pencil in my sketchbook then fiddled with a little in Photoshop.

Caricature?

So, I've been kind of trying out some caricatures and this drawing jam came up at the Drawingboard.org so I gave it a shot. This is supposed to be Nick Cave of "The Bad Seeds". I did this during my lunch yesterday at work. Very scribbly. Now that I look at it its almost the same angle on the face of the Bandito, I guess I need to try a different angle!
